Mailgun webmail login: where is the inbox?

If you searched for a Mailgun webmail login, you probably want to read and reply to email on your Mailgun domain. Mailgun does not include an inbox, but you can add one.

Short answer: Mailgun has no webmail

Mailgun is email infrastructure: it sends, receives, and tracks email through an API and SMTP. When you log in to Mailgun you see the control panel (domains, sending logs, routes, suppressions, analytics), not an inbox. There is no Mailgun webmail where you can open a message thread and hit reply.

Inboxes is an independent webmail client that connects to your Mailgun account with your API key. Inboxes is not affiliated with Mailgun or Sinch.

What the Mailgun login gives you

  • Domains: DNS records (SPF, DKIM, MX) and verification status
  • Logs: events like accepted, delivered, opened, and failed
  • Receiving / routes: rules that forward, store, or POST incoming mail
  • Suppressions and analytics: bounces, unsubscribes, complaints, and stats

Missing: a folder view of received mail, threads, a reply button, search across your mail history, and long-term storage. Mailgun keeps messages saved with the store() action for up to 3 days. See how to see email content in Mailgun.

3 ways to read email sent to your Mailgun domain

1. Forward to Gmail or Outlook

Create a Mailgun route that forwards mail to a personal inbox. It is free and quick, but replies come from your personal address unless you also configure SMTP send-as, and forwarded mail can be flagged by spam filters. Details: Mailgun forward email vs a real inbox.

2. Build your own inbox on webhooks

Point a route at your own endpoint, parse the POSTed message, save it in a database, and build a UI. Flexible, but it is a whole product to maintain. Background: how Mailgun inbound email works.

3. Connect a Mailgun webmail client

Use a client that sits on top of Mailgun. Inboxes connects with your private API key, installs the routes and webhooks, and gives you a Gmail-like inbox: multiple mailboxes, threads, compose and reply from your domain, search, and delivery status.

Set up a Mailgun inbox in a few minutes

  1. Create an account at Inboxes
  2. Connect Mailgun with your private API key and region (US or EU)
  3. Pick your domain and add mailboxes like hello@ and support@
  4. Enable webhooks so incoming mail and delivery events sync in real time
  5. Read and reply from your own domain in the inbox
